What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the website function properly and remember your preferences.

Local Storage

Local storage holds more than the cookies above, and none of it expires on its own. We use it for:

  • Your cookie consent choice
  • Appearance and interface preferences — light/dark theme, Lite/Pro mode, whether the navigation rail is expanded
  • Which one-time tours, prompts and announcements you have already seen
  • Notification preferences, email cooldown timers and a pending invite code
  • Drafts you have not saved yet — a pre-market plan, a weekly debrief, an unsent note

None of this is sent to our servers by local storage itself — it stays in your browser until you clear it, or until you save a draft, at which point that draft is stored with your account like any other entry. Clearing your browser data removes all of it.

No Analytics Cookies Without Consent

NGU Edge uses Google Analytics (G-EB7H08N2YJ) to understand how the platform is used and improve the experience. Google Analytics cookies are only loaded after you give consent via the cookie banner. If you choose "Essential Only", no analytics data is collected.

When enabled, Google Analytics collects anonymized usage data such as pages visited, session duration, and device type. This data is processed by Google LLC. For more information, see Google’s Privacy Policy.

One Measurement That Runs Without a Cookie

To be straight about it: we also use Vercel Web Analytics, and it runs whichever button you press above. It is not cookie-based — it sets nothing on your device and stores no identifier, so it cannot recognise you on a later visit or follow you to another site. It counts page views with the referrer, country and device type. Because it stores nothing on your device it needs no consent under § 25 TTDSG, which is why it is not on the banner’s switch; it is named here rather than left out.

Managing Cookies

You can change or withdraw your analytics consent at any time, and it takes effect immediately — no reload, no clearing your browser:

You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent you from using the Service, as authentication requires them.
